One n' Only Argan Heat Ceramic Dryer

I have been on the lookout for a new hair dryer since my last one broke - RIP baby CHI dryer, sigh. I went over to Sally Beauty Supply to check some things out. Of course i was a bit overwhelmed with the ton of choices that they have. After what seemed like ages, i decided to pick up the One n' Only Argan Heat Ceramic Dryer. Its probably one of the best hair dryers ive had in my opinion. It dries my hair really fast and doesn't seem to dry it out like my other one. I also loved that it came with a small size Argan oil, which is really healthy for the hair - from what i know. When i do try it, i will have a separate review post about it with more details on that. When i picked up the dryer, they had a special to get a free brush, i got one of those also, which is really good. You can check out the dryer on Sally website. Here's what they say about it:

  • Professional 1875W AC motor
  • 6 heat/speed settings
  • Concentrator nozzle
  • Removable lint filter
  • 8-ft power cord
  • Ionic generator
The One 'n Only 1875 Watt Argan Heat Ceramic Ionic Dryer features a grill that is infused with Argan Oil, derived from the Argan Tree. Argan oil is rich in essential fatty acids, omega-6 and vitamin E. It is valued for its ability to revive and nourish dry, damaged hair. Ceramic provides even heat distribution and emits far-infrared heat for gentle styling, as well as natural ions that reduce frizz and static for smoother, shinier hair.

Argan Heat smooths the cuticle for silky and healthy looking hair and eliminates frizz creating brilliant shine. Helps to preserve the color and integrity of hair reviving and conditioning it.

The One 'n Only Argan Heat Ceramic Dryer is a lightweight dryer weighing just 22 ounces with a professional grade AC motor and ionic generator. Other features include 6 heat/speed settings, cold shot button, concentrator nozzle, removable filter and cold shot button.

The fact that its an ionic dryer attracted me to it, so it helps the hair stay shiny and healthy. I love that it has a variety of speeds and heat settings, so you can adjust it based on your personal preference. I like to use it on high setting, which helps hair dry really quickly which helps avoid damage in the long run. The one thing that may bother some people would be that it is on the heavy side. Its a fairly large dryer but i don't mind it. I would recommend this dryer if you have frizzy hair like me. It leaves my hair with very little frizz, since my hair has a mind of its own sometimes and likes to be curly. The quick dry hair is time saving, leaving my hair fully dry, soft and shinny.
 PROS:
  • Leaves hair shinny
  • Little frizz
  • Dries really quickly
  • Various speeds and heat settings
  • Long cord
  • Really affordable
  • Slick look
  • Comes with small Argan oil bottle
CONS:
  • High setting may sound too loud
  • Big dryer may be heavy for some

Review - L'Occitane Bonne Mere

I can honestly say im obsessed with L'occitane. It has so many amazing products that i keep trying and they never disappoint. They also always come out with nice sets that have great value and are worth checking out. One nice set that i recently picked up is the Bonne Mere, which is a new line of lotion and body wash made of milk and honey. Full size bottles are available of course, but this set was too cute to pass.
It came in this nice tin bowl which is great for storing makeup or other things. The set had both the honey and milk products that look like travel size containers - two body washes, two lotions and a bar of soap.

Bonne Mere, Milk - these are the ones with the blue label and they are lovely products. They leave the skin really smooth and it smells really nice and fresh. I gave these two to my mom because i she really loved the soft scent that wasnt overpowering and just left the skin feeling very soft. The soap smells just the same and its a great addition if your prefer to use a bar of soap instead of body wash.

Bonne Mere, Honey - this scent is my favorite out of the two. I absolutely adore the small lotion. I just throw it in my purse and its really handy. It smells just like honey and almost has a nice earthy scent to it, i absolutely love it. I will definitely buy the full size lotion of the honey one. It leaves the skin extremely soft and not heavy or oily like other lotions that take forever to get absorbed by the skin. Body wash is just the same and feels really amazing, i would recommend checking this scent out.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette!

If you're a long time follower of my blog you are familiar with my obsession with Urban Decay palettes. I have a few palettes from them and they never disappoint me. When they came out a little while ago with the Naked 2 i did not think i needed it since i have the first one. After seeing it in person and swatching some of the shades i knew i needed to have it. The Naked palettes are so worth it and a great success. All colors are mostly on the warm- toned neutral side which is amazing to use everyday and create various looks, anything from really simple to smokey eyes. Below in included a picture on my poor overused Naked Palette and how i hit pan on a lot of the shades that i use almost every single day. So it felt like the right time to get the second one and give it a chance. After trying it for about a week now i will admit i am head over heals in love with it. I feel like for some reason these sets of colors suit my skintone better and my taste at the moment. They did include a lot more shimmers in this palette, which i don't mind at all, especially for the summer. The colors are again neutral, although i feel like they are darker which to me is heaven for my smokey eyes. The palette includes:

Blackout (blackest black with matte finish), Booty Call (shimmery cork), Busted (deep brown with shimmery finish), Chopper (copper shimmer with silver micro glitter), Foxy (cream bisque with matte finish), Half Baked (golden bronze with shimmery finish), Pistol (light greyish brown with shimmery finish), Snake Bite (dark bronze shimmer with metallic base), Suspect (pale golden beige with shimmery finish), Tease (creamy pale brown with matte finish), Verve (oyster with shimmery finish), YDK (cool bronze shimmer with metallic base), and Lip Junkie Naked (sheer shimmery pinky neutral) and Good Karma Shadow/Crease Brush

All comes packed in a metal tin that seems more durable that the first magnet packaging. I prefer the fact that it came with a good brush instead of a double ended eyeliner. The one thing i wish they did was include a travel sized primer instead of the lip junkie. I dont care so much for the shade or the looks of the gloss itself. But that's asking too much isnt it (LOL). Though i will give them credit for finally including a matte black eyeshadow. This palette pretty much has it all, you wouldn't have to reach out for other eyeshadows if you are to take it with you anywhere. You have your shimmers, your highlights and black eyeshadow to line your eyes. All-in-all i feel like it's the best summery palette and the best one that Urban Decay has right now. Both Naked palettes are worth it, i just feel like if you have the first one and don't use it as much you wouldn't need the second one necessarily. Unless you collect these palettes like i seem to be doing.  Either way i recommend checking it out because it's a really great value palette and it is worth having at some point.
P.S. - Expect tons of FOTDs with this gorgeousness! =)

REVIEW: Too Faced Look of Love Spring Collection

I don't own many Too Faced products so i decided to get this set, since it seemed like a really good value to start off with. Aside from the gorgeous limited edition bag that everything came in, the products themselves are really good and worth having - a limited edition trio with two eyeshadows and a blush, a flatbuki brush, full size glamour gloss in Barely Legal, full size lash injection mascara, full size shadow insurance and a deluxe primed and poreless.
It really is a great value set and everything is wearable everyday.
Just to give you an idea, the whole set was about $40. The Lash Injection alone, full size, is $21. The full size Shadow Insurance primer is $18 and the full size Glamour Gloss is $19 - just these three purchased separately would come up to $58! Crazy! And this doesn't even include the rest of the great products that come in the bag. Searching for it online, it says that the value of the whole thing comes up to $124, and you can see why. I'm still playing around with the products and i want to make a separate review posts for the face primer and the lash injection mascara; and of course an FOTD using the lovely trio with the shadows and blush.

Review: E.L.F Studio Complexion Perfection Powder

 e.l.f studio tone correcting powder

Create a balanced and radiant complexion that is beautiful and healthy. The lightweight formula evens out the skin tone and absorbs excess oil. The sheer formula brightens, mattes and neutralizes the skin. The colors are meant to be blended together as the Blue neutralizes orange, the Green neutralizes red, the Pink neutralizes grey and the Yellow brightens and neutralizes red.
So what exactly is the point of adding all this color to your face? The different colors help bring your entire face to an evened out color. Many of us find that we have some purple or blue under our eyes or have red cheeks, and have to use opposite shades to even everything out. Basically here's the breakdown of how it works, as mentioned in the description on their website:
Yellow formula cancels out Purple - e.g. under the eyes
Green formula cancels out Red - e.g. cheeks, face
Blue formula cancels out Orange - e.g. spots on face
Pink formula cancels out Green/Blue - e.g. under eyes

My skin has never been even toned. I have a lot of small redness all over my cheeks and i sometimes need to use something green before to able to fully cover that. I use a good foundation either way, but by the end of the day, the redness seeps through it.
My opinion: For the $3 price i didn't really expect to make too much of a difference but i was a bit surprised. I got a chance to use it for a few days to get a feel of the product and how it works. When i try to swirl all the powders together, you get a sort of translucent powder that basically leaves my skin looking really white. I guess that's it's way to evening out the skin tone. One terrible downside about this is that it's extremely powdery and can feel chalky. It's not that bad for me since i have oily skin, so it keeps my skin looking dry for the longest time. I don't think i would really recommend it for dry skin. I make sure i apply it before the foundation to kind of create a clean white base before i put on any color. I also tried using the colors individually, specifically the green one for my redness and it worked really well. Again the same powdery chalky feel to it but it doesn't bother me, since it's summer time and i get oily either way. I don't think it would work on top of foundation simply because of the translucent powder will pale me out a lot. But all-in-all i really do love that it tames down by redness and kind of gets the face ready for foundation and other products. If you don't use foundation and want something that would even out your skin tone, i would recommend it just make sure u do add some bronzer and/or blush to give more life to your face because its going to pale it out.

I think overall i'm happy with the product knowing it's only $3 and it comes in a big compact with a mirror. Next to ELF i saw that Target has Physicians Formula color wheal, and it looked a bit smaller than this. The colors were somehow swirled together in the compact. Of course it's a bit more expensive but you have different options if you're interested. They also have the colors separately if you only wanna focus on specific problem areas.

Have you tried this powder or any other color correctors?
What do you think?

REVIEW: Sudocrem Skin Care Cream

I was recently sent three samples of the new Sudocrem skin care tubes that are a new upcoming sensation. I was actually not familiar with this company at all, it's really popular in the UK. Sudocrem is generally known as a antiseptic healing cream. It protects the babies skin if irritated by diaper rash and that original popular version that many are familiar with is in a pot. The known cream can also be used to treat cuts and grazes, sunburn, minor burns, acne and bedsores.
Here's what the original pot form Sudocrem is best know for
(information taken from the website HERE)
Sudocrem’s clinically proven to soothe, heal and protect your baby’s delicate skin and works in three ways:
  • A water-repellent base forms a protective barrier, helping to stop any irritants (urine and faeces) coming into contact with the skin.
  • It both softens and soothes sore, inflamed skin.
  • It has a weak local anaesthetic to help ease pain and irritation.
So what gives Sudocrem its healing properties?

REVIEW - N.Y.C Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny

On my recent trip to Target i picked up this bronzer that i've been wanting to try for a long time. It's by N.Y.C and its extremely affordable, around $3. It comes in a small slim compact with a mirror. You can easily just slip it in your purse its super cute. The quality is really good for the price. It goes on extremely smooth and just gives your face a nice sun-kissed look without overdoing it. It's not super pigmented so you don't have to worry about a light hand with a brush or sponge. I like using the brush to just blend it on my face for a nice hint of color. It's definitely one of my favorite bronzers since its a nice matte finish with a slight sheen feel without looking glittery or shimmery. I highly recommend it.
    Benefits
Sun-kissed yet natural look year round without the damaging effects of the sun
    Glides easily for sheer effect
Adds a tanned look in seconds
Can be worn alone or over makeup
    Dermatologist tested

Swatches compared to other bronzers i own

REVIEW: Maybelline Fit Me Foundation and Powder!

I'm sure many of you are already familiar with this new Fit Me line that Maybelline recently came out with. I've been wearing this foundation enough so i can give a full review based on my experience with these products. I purchased both the foundation and powder from Target for $6.99, which is a great price for a foundation and powder. They also have available concealer, blush and bronzer (which i REALLY want to try) for just under $6.

      Fit Me Foundation in 220
The shade that i picked up that look more yellow undertoned is 220 Natural Beige. Here's what it says on the bottle:
      • Matches Natural Tone
      • Blends Seamlessly
      • Let's Skin Breathe
First thing i noticed that i don't like is that it doesn't have a pump. I feel like it's such so messy when working with a bottled foundation. The foundation itself has a very soft creamy consistency which i love and it's very easy to blend and work with. It does have a smell, which doesn't really bother me. It's like a fresh baby powder sort of smell so i kind of like it. It didn't feel heavy on my face but me being oily skinned i noticed that it's extremely oily so i need to powder my face several times a day. I'm personally not a big fan of the dewy look from foundations, i'd rather apply highlight powders to get the glow that i want. Having a dewy look makes my skin look like very greasy and messy. The coverage is decent i really like it, except that it fades away quickly. If you have trouble skin and need full coverage i wouldn't recommend this foundation. As it fades you might end up looking blotchy and dirty. I don't think i would re-purchase this foundation just because of its oily feel on my face and the short lasting power.

Fit Me Pressed Powder in 220
I picked up the shade that matched the foundation in Natural Beige.
I like how nice it combined with the foundation on the skin to help it set. What i really don't like is that it smudges onto clothes extremely easily and i don't like that. I tried applying a translucent powder over it and it just looked like a powdery mess on my face. It does leave my skin feeling and looking very soft but the fact that it transfers onto things really easy bugs me a lot. Even though it's the same shade as the foundation, it makes the foundation look a lot darker. So if you're a NC30 for example, the foundation will match you but with the powder you will look like NC35-NC37. I doubt i would wear the powder often.

      Overall Opinion:
Even though it's a great affordable foundation, i don't see myelf rushing to buy another one anytime soon. The fact that it doesn't last me all day doesn't sit very well with me. I don't have time to re-apply foundations all day so i need something that has a decent lasting power and won't look like a mess by the end of the day. My skin is somewhat sensitive and pretty oily so wearing the foundation every single day made me break out a little bit so i don't want to use it everyday or on bad skin days. I would recommend it for thos of you with dryer skin and don't need that full coverage like me. I will however give the blushes and bronzers a try because of the variety and how pretty they look. Ill keep you posted when i do.

I will post a picture with me wearing it soon...

Have you tried and FIT ME products?
Any thoughts you would like to share about this?

Review - Almay Intense i-color smoky-i kit for Hazel eyes!

I noticed these new easy to use trios at my local drugstore and i had to get one to try out. I picked up the one for hazel eyes even though i have brown eyes just because these colors appealed to me more, and the brown eye trio was sold out LOL! These are perfect for those of you who just get started with makeup or want something easy to use in three easy steps to achieve a smoky eye look.
Almay intense i-color smoky-i kit comes in four different trios, one for each eye color: brown, hazel, blue and green. The shadows are a bit shimmery, so if that's not your thing maybe these aren't for you. I love that it gives a very subtle smokey eye in easy steps that anyone can follow without disappointment. The quality of the shadows seem a bit dry when swatched but looks a lot better with a primer. I do like how the colors go well together in a way to make your specific eye color stand out. I will definitely be purchasing the one for brown eyes soon.
The one i picked up is for you hazel eyed beauties and comes with three colors that you apply on your lid, crease and browbone - a silvery gray, a lavender purple and an icy white. It also includes two spongy applicators, which i usually dont use.

I will be posting an FOTD using this trio soon so stay tuned for that...

Have you tried any of these yet?

      Review: KKCENTERHK False Eyelashes

I was recently contacted by a representative from  http://www.kkcenterhk.com who was kind enough to provide my with some lashes to try out. They offer a variety of different types of falsies, wigs and other items. I love that they have a really huge selection of lashes that you can choose from at a very affordable price for the amount of lashes you get, depending on which type you choose.

I was sent four different sample boxes of the ES brand: A020, A134, A109, A119. Each box contains 10 pair of lashes.
      _________________
A020 - Clear liner short under lower eyelashes - $3.50
I've never tried lower lashes before so it was kind of interesting to see how they work. I'm still experimenting with how to use them and wear them. It's personally not something i would wear on a daily basis but definitely something i would consider adding to my eyes for a night out. The lashes themselves are quite long so they have to be cut and adjusted to the shape of your eyes.
      ____________________
A134 - Hand Made Clear Line Black Natural False Eyelashes - $4.98

Out of all of lashes, these have to be my favorite ones. They seem very natural, long and curled up very nicely. They kind of remind of Kim Kardashian style of lashes where they're long enough to reach close to the eyebrow. These seem that long because they curl as i applied mascara so i love that about them.

      ____________________
      A109 - Black false EyeLashes - $3.80

I'm not sure if i prefer these specific lashes since my own lashes aren't too long and the reason why i would wear lashes is to have longer thicker lashes. This specific pair has very thin hair, so while it gives the length it doesn't give me the volume im looking for. They do however work great cut in half and keeping focus on elongating the outer corner of the eye.
      _____________________
      A119 - Luxe Black false EyeLashes - $5.20
First thing that i thought when i looked at these lashes was "Snooki" LOL! They're gorgeous thick lashes that you would definitely wear on a night out. They don't look natural for everyday, unless you prefer this look. I love that the band is flexible to it adjusts to the eye shape pretty easily and stays put nicely. Again, they're very long so you might have to cut and adjust to your eyes.

In general i think the wesbite should be checked out for good quality lashes at very reasonable prices. You have a ton of variety of lashes to choose from. I haven't had problems with them so far and i would probably consider buying from them in the future since i'm lash addict LOL!

Disclaimer: I was sent these for review purpose by the representative of the company.
I was not paid for this review and what i've said is my honest opinion.
