HAUL! - Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick

So something that i really love...and i do mean LOVE are amazing drugstore deals. I'm talking about the Buy 1 Get 1 Free deals! I always try to take advantage of the deal if good brands are involved. This week at Walgreens they had the deal for Maybelline. I usually don't buy this product much but i was so curious to try their new lipsticks. I read a lot of reviews on them. Some people compare them to the high end brands. So i couldn't miss this chance. I loved the packaging, the colors and the texture of the lipstick. I really went crazy though and took advantage of the deal TWICE! I'm a sucker for lipsticks what can i say lol. My personal opinion though is that they're worth it for drugstore lipsticks, special deal or not.

Makeup Bag Must-haves

How much is too much when it comes to organizing your makeup bag? Whether you carry it in your purse everyday, night or on vacation, it's always difficult to figure out what to take. It's impossible to have everything that you own at home. I tried that once and my entire purse ended up being my makeup bag - talk about epic fail. When i have issues like this i usually like to know what celebrities do in these situations. They're always on the go and im positive they carry just the right necessary items. I found this magazine page online where Kimora Lee Simmons reveals her secret on what essentials she carries with her. Are yours similar? Check it out =)

FOTD - Smokey Pink

I wore this look yesterday all day. I really love it. It's simple yet sophisticated with the bright pink and lashes. The pink that i used on the lid is a pigment that i pressed myself. It's the HIP pigment in Fiery. Its a gorgeous color. I used a wet brush in order to get it to stick on my lid and give it a brighter look. I wet the brush using eye drops (you can use Fix+ i just dont have any =)

Here's the complete list of products i used for the entire look

FACE:
Revlon Colorstay Foundation - 220 Medium Beige
NYC Smooth Skin Loose Face Powder - 741 Translucent
Jane Blush - Blushing Orchid

EYES:
Two colors from 120 palette - soft pink and a shimmery dark gray
(similar to Mac Da Bling or NYX Sweet Pink) and (similar to Mac Knight Divine or NYX Midnight)
HIP pigment in Fiery - all over the lid
Matte White from 120 palette - as highlight
Revlon colorstay liquid liner - Black
Stila eyeliner - Onyx
L'oreal Voluminous Mascara - Blackest Black
Falsies: Andrea Modlash #21

LIPS:
Mac Cherish Lipstick

In case you have the 120 palette here's an idea of where the colors are that i used

Drugstore Haul - [Revlon]

I stopped by CVS yesterday for a non-makeup related purpose, but i ended up getting a few things anyway because Revlon had a very convenient sale of Buy 1 Get 1 Free! I love those!...So i got a new foundation because my tan is dying - r.i.p ='( - so i had to get a lighter shade. I also got a Colorstay gloss which ended up being free (regular price i think is 8.99). Also they had what i call a "bargain bucket", which are the shelves with the clearance stuff =P. I found a pretty quad from Revlon for only 3.49! I had to get it. That's all i ended up getting.
Here's a picture of the products =)

Ok now ill give you more details and review...

Revlon Colorstay Foundation - 220 Medium Beige for Combination/Oily Skin
I don't know if this foundation is supposed to be liquidy but this specific one i ended up buying was and i didn't realize it in the store. It goes on very smoothly though and it's easy to blend so thumbs up for that. I'm still having issues finding my shade though =/ . I figured im more of a yellow shade which is so confusing because i was more of a brown-ish tone. Maybe because i was tanning then i stopped for a while now. Confusing but ill keep experimenting. All in all this is my top pick for drugstore foundation brand.

Revlon Colorstay 12hour eyeshadow - 09 Sterling Rose

The colors are really pretty but once i put them on they all seem to be lighter than you see them and they resemble each other a lot. I couldn't even tell the difference between the colors because they all seem to have a frosty finish so they match and blend with each other. The black is more like a dark gray. Also, the consistancy is a bit powdery. You have to really pack on the color. They're really pretty though. It all depends on how you use them with each other. I will do a look with them and once i get it right i will post it. For the price, it's not too bad.

Revlon Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze - 500 Lasting Shimmer
Well... I have to start out by mentioning the taste and smell. It's super weird! It's like plastic. Like on of those plastic pool floats. I think the color is too shimmery for me but its gorgeous. It's like a sandy color with a lot of shimmer. The taste and smell bugs me a bit but its still pretty. It lasts a bit and if you mix it with a neutral lipstick for example Revlons Nude Attitude Matte Lipstick. You can work with it different ways. All im sayin about this is that i'm glad it was free with the foundation lol

I actually have a monthly HG! My new Cocoa Butter lip balm. It was 1.79 from Walgreens and i've been using it non-stop since i got it. It makes my lips soft and peals off the dry skin off it. The taste isn't bad at all. For the price, i think it's a great product. I love it!

My miracle in a tube

So I've been having a lot of issues with my skin lately and i never seem to find the right product to use and work for me. I've been stumbling over this "answer in a tube" over and over again, so i decided to go get it and try it out. I've been using it every two days for the past week and a half and im LOVING it! This "Mint Julep Masque" by Queen Helene really does what it says, it "helps dry up acne pimples, rinse away blackheads and shrink enlarged pores". Even though i don't have acne pimples, i've been having a lot of major huge pores and it looked so ugly. This masque really cleared out the dirt and made my skin feel so fresh. I used it mainly in the morning as a wake-up thing. For the entire day my skin felt alot better and in a week i felt it become smoother and the pores weren't as visible and enlarged as they were before. You feel it working then you put it on. It feel like toothpaste almost and it tingles your skin till it dries. I love it because it works! I'm super happy with this product and it was only $3.99! Yay for better skin =)

Kim Kardashian inspired look

Since i love Kim Kardashian so much, and had the chance to attempt a re-creation of her look..i did!... Of course she's gorgeous and i don't assume i look anything like her, but her makeup is always so flawless and i wanted to give it a try =)
Here's the picture that inspired me

And here's what i did...

STEP 1:
I used my 120 palette and added a gray-ish shimmer color all over my lid and a little above my crease
Step 2:
Using Mac eyeshadow in Smoke and Diamonds, i pack some on a crease brush and blend it in the crease with the gray-ish color to smooth it out
Step 3:
Wet a brush. Either with water (not too recommended), Fix+ (highly recommended) or eye drops from the drugstore (cheap alternative that i used =). I wanted to pack on the sparkly grey/silver color all over the lid and since it has a pigment feel to it, this worked really well.
Step 4:
With another brush (i used the crease brush because it's small), i used the silver color to add on top of the wet gray/silver from before. This made it look brighter.
Step 5:
I added some Stila Kajol eyeliner on my waterline and smudged it a bit
Step 6:
I used Ulta eyeshadow in Cocoa Bean. Any brown color would do to just add below the waterline and blend with the smudged black liner.
Final Steps:
I added Nars lipgloss in Turkish Delight, Mac Zoom Lash Mascara and Falsies =)

Here's my final look (including an attempt to imitate her style =P )
