REVIEW - Revlon PhotoReady Foundation

Revlonphotoready
I've had enough time to test out this foundation and tell you my honest opinion about it. I have to say im really fond of it. I think it might have replaced my Revlon Colorstay, which i always end up going back to, but not this time. The color that i picked up is in Medium Beige 006. It looked the more yellow based out of all the few color selection that they have. The first time i ever tried it out i was very impressed with the consistency. It's very smooth, not thick but not too runny either. It dries fairly quickly so you have to work fast before you end up having spots on your face. When it does dry, unlike the Colorstay foundation, it seems a bit dewy and it's because of the tiny shimmers in it. I usually set it with powder, but sometimes i tend to over-powder and my face looks heavier than usual, so be careful about that. I do have oily skin that's why i feel the need to powder my face but i usually touch-up about twice a day when i wear this foundation, which isn't too bad.photoreadypump

Will you be a glittery pixie?
Of course this is the first and main concern about this foundation. It definitely was mine too because reviews online are either in favor, or against it. There are very small fine shimmers in the foundation that are visible if you look really close into it. To me, it doesn't give you a glittery face as much as a glow. However, by the end of the day, you can clearely see glitters here and there on your face. This can be a good thing or a bad thing. At the end of the day, at night, you might want that extra glow that you carried with you throughout that day.

Does it last all day?
If the weather is nice and cooperative, it lasts the entire day for me. If i wear it for more than 10 hours, i can start seeing spots by my jawline so it has the tendency to just fade, but it has a reasonable staying power.
See the glitters?!?

Haul! - Maybelline and Revlon

If you follow me on twitter i mentioned that the past week Revlon and Maybelline were 40% off and i figured of taking advantage of a few things that i've been wanting to try out. I will give you first impressions then be open to do full post reviews for products that i need more time to test out and give you a better review.
So here are the few things that i picked up...

Revlon PhotoReady foundation in 006 Medium Beige - i only wore it about three times but so far i really love this foundation. I was really worried about the whole glitter part and because i have oily skin i thought it would definitely make me look like a disco ball, but it doesn't. The shimmers are very fine and it just gives my face a healthy glow - Stay tuned for a full review post soon...

Maybelline ExpertWear eyeshadow singles in Silken Taupe - i had really high hopes for this eyeshadow. The name sounds smooth and i thought it would be a nice all over the lid color but it hardly is. It's a bit hard to work with. It's not soft and the color is just a light taupy shimmer that would probably be nice in the inner corners or highlight. I will try to find more uses for it and keep you updated.

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner - I got this in Blackest Black. They have three other colors: Brown, Charcoal and Eggplant. I love the consistency of this liner. It goes on smoothly and you can easily build up how intense you want it. You can smudge it if you want and it's long lasting. As you can see by the pictures, i tried to wipe it off and you can still see it on my hand. I'm not a big fan of the brush. The first time you use it it works really nice then it just gets hardened and its more difficult to smooth it out. I hope the liner doesn't dry out on me fast.

Maybelline Dream Mousse concealer in Cream - It's the darkest shade for Light skin tones. They have other two darker ones. The concealer is a matte finish and very soft and smooth. I use it under my eyes and i absolutely love it. I will do a full post review with pictures and more details after i use it more.

Revlon Lipgloss in Peach Petal - I've been seeing reviews on this and i absolutely loved it so i really wanted to try it. The color is gorgeous. It's a creamy nude. It's a bit of a sticky consistency and it doesn't last very long but still i love it. It kind of reminded me of Nars Turkish Delight but it's not as pink. It looks the same because of the creamy look and feel to it. This is definitely my new go-to lipgloss i love it on either lipstick or on bear lips.
