Beauty 101 - Allure Magazine

Smoky Eye according to Allure Magazine
Cheat Sheet

1) Line your upper and lower lashes with a creamy black pencil. For your top lid, lift the skin at the outer corner up and out slightly, then use short strokes to draw right on the lash line from the outside in. Trace your bottom lid, wiggling the pencil between the lashes. Blur all lines by gently rubbing them with a cotton swab.

2) Fold a tissue and hold it under your eye. Dip a small eye-shadow brush in shimmery gray shadow; tap the handle to get rid of excess.

3) Starting at the outer corner of your eye, brush the shadow inward with quick flicks. Concentrate the color close to the lash line, then use the brush to blend the shadow up to the crease.

4) Fade the shadow outward by dusting what's left on your brush from your crease to your brow bone. Stipple the brush over any edges of shadow to blend them. Dip the brush back in the shadow and work in into the crease. Curl your lashes and apply mascara.

5) Clean off any stray bits of shadow under your eyes with makeup remover, then step back from the mirror to examine your work. If the shadow looks too dark, brush over it with a translucent powder.

Stipple the brush over any edges of shadow to blend them.
