FOTD - Naked Club

I feel like i haven't done an FOTD post in a while. So here's one of what i wore today. I'm kind of obsessed with Macs eyeshadow Club. Its such a nice versatile shade. Today i paired it up with more of the brown and a pop of teal to make it look natural but still fun. Club eyeshadow is one of those shades that you just need to have in your collection. Its a satin finish and it applies very smoothly. Depending on the light and what other shades you pair it up with, it shows up differently everytime. Im going to keep experimenting with it and see what else i come up with. For now here's the look, hope you like it!

FOTD using the Naked Palette 2!

So i'm still trying to adjust to this palette and figure out different looks with it that i like. The colors work really well together and they end up blending together nicely on the eyes. Here's a more simple bronzy look that i came up with. Very simple yet has that smokeyness that i always like. I find this palette to be more summery due to all the bronze and shimmer that is in it. So here's one look out of the many others that will be up in the future.

What's in my makeup box?

I mentioned in my last post that i will talk separately about what i carry in my makeup bag that i carry in my purse. Technically it's a box but it works to fit all the essentials that i feel are necessary for me to take around. Even though i don't tend to fully touch-up my makeup throughout the day, aside from maybe lipstick or gloss, i still like to keep these things just in case. Sometimes at work the girls ask me to put makeup on them randomly and so these things are just the right products to use to give someone a makeover. Everything is somewhat packed tightly together but they still fit just right.
So here's everything spread out...
(from Left to Right in to particular order)

Lorac e/s mini in Serenity - this is a bronzy shade that i rarely use but i threw it in here because its so cute and small
Mac Togetherness Trio - this is one of the favorite shadow combo. I rarely use it so i threw it in here because i know i would for sure use it in any case.
NYC e/s in Nutty - this is a really nice neutral shadow, i really love it.
Too Faced - blush brush
Nivea Lip balm - love this stuff, very moisturizing
Mac Myth - one of my favorite lipsticks of all time
Three lipglosses from Bath and Body Works - Vanilla Mint (my fav), Mocha, Candy Cane
Nars Orgasm Illuminator mini - i'm really considering purchasing the full size i really love the glow it adds to the cheeks
Nail File
Eyeshadow brush
Tweezers
Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero
Mini Mascaras - Mary Kay and Mac Zoom Lash
Perfume samples - Juicy Couture and Marc Jacobs

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette!

If you're a long time follower of my blog you are familiar with my obsession with Urban Decay palettes. I have a few palettes from them and they never disappoint me. When they came out a little while ago with the Naked 2 i did not think i needed it since i have the first one. After seeing it in person and swatching some of the shades i knew i needed to have it. The Naked palettes are so worth it and a great success. All colors are mostly on the warm- toned neutral side which is amazing to use everyday and create various looks, anything from really simple to smokey eyes. Below in included a picture on my poor overused Naked Palette and how i hit pan on a lot of the shades that i use almost every single day. So it felt like the right time to get the second one and give it a chance. After trying it for about a week now i will admit i am head over heals in love with it. I feel like for some reason these sets of colors suit my skintone better and my taste at the moment. They did include a lot more shimmers in this palette, which i don't mind at all, especially for the summer. The colors are again neutral, although i feel like they are darker which to me is heaven for my smokey eyes. The palette includes:

Blackout (blackest black with matte finish), Booty Call (shimmery cork), Busted (deep brown with shimmery finish), Chopper (copper shimmer with silver micro glitter), Foxy (cream bisque with matte finish), Half Baked (golden bronze with shimmery finish), Pistol (light greyish brown with shimmery finish), Snake Bite (dark bronze shimmer with metallic base), Suspect (pale golden beige with shimmery finish), Tease (creamy pale brown with matte finish), Verve (oyster with shimmery finish), YDK (cool bronze shimmer with metallic base), and Lip Junkie Naked (sheer shimmery pinky neutral) and Good Karma Shadow/Crease Brush

All comes packed in a metal tin that seems more durable that the first magnet packaging. I prefer the fact that it came with a good brush instead of a double ended eyeliner. The one thing i wish they did was include a travel sized primer instead of the lip junkie. I dont care so much for the shade or the looks of the gloss itself. But that's asking too much isnt it (LOL). Though i will give them credit for finally including a matte black eyeshadow. This palette pretty much has it all, you wouldn't have to reach out for other eyeshadows if you are to take it with you anywhere. You have your shimmers, your highlights and black eyeshadow to line your eyes. All-in-all i feel like it's the best summery palette and the best one that Urban Decay has right now. Both Naked palettes are worth it, i just feel like if you have the first one and don't use it as much you wouldn't need the second one necessarily. Unless you collect these palettes like i seem to be doing.  Either way i recommend checking it out because it's a really great value palette and it is worth having at some point.
P.S. - Expect tons of FOTDs with this gorgeousness! =)

FOTD - Smokey Mary Jane

I managed to take a few pictures of my look today before i went to work. I'm really lovin this Urban Decay eyeshadow. I feel like it lights up the eyes with the metallic look to it. Feels like i haven't posted an FOTD post in a while. You may notice that im not wearing falsies in this look. I haven't worn false lashes in a few months now because i felt that my natural ones were barely there. I realized that all i really needed was a good mascara to make the lashes look somewhat decent. If i feel like i need that extra oomph i have lashes handy that i can just put on. Ok so with that said, here's the look for today =)

HAUL - Urban Decay Goodies!

Urban Decay recently had a 25% off discount deal on their website and i just had to take advantage of it and order some things i had my eye on for a while now. If you don't know already, i'll tell you now that Urban Decay is my favorite brand of makeup for their eye shadows. I love the variety, quality and best of all, their palettes. They release new palettes often and they never disappoint, even though the shades seem to be repeating themselves, they're all worth having - in my opinion.
Ok so with that said, here's what i picked up: Feminine Palette, Mary Jane single eyeshadow and a Primer tube
____________________________________________________________
Urban Decay Feminine Palette
This is one of the three different palettes that have their own personality - Feminine, Dangerous and Fun. I made a post in the past about all the palettes, so check it out HERE. I kind of had a hard time picking deciding which palette i should go for. They all seem to have shades that i would wear. I feel like each of us doesn't just have one of these traits - we're all feminine and fun but can be dangerous at times too ;) ...I chose the Feminine palette for now because it has more of everyday/summery shades that i would find myself wearing right now. It comes with 6 different shades, that are also found as single eye-shadows. Stray Dog is one of my favorite shades that i've used up in one of UDs palettes in the past. Darkhorse is found in the Naked Palette if you own that, and im glad i got it again because ive hit pan in the nakedness. The rest of the shadows are very soft shades that work great with the browns so you can play around with this palette. Im excited to post some FOTDs using it and sharing with you various ways that i like to combine the colors. The palette also comes with a 24/7 eye pencil in Zero - of course - and a small sizes eye-shadow primer in Eden, which is a matte nude shade.

Urban Decay Single Eyeshadow in Mary Jane
I'm really in love with this shade. I swatched it before a while back when i went to Sephora and i always had my eye on it. It's a metallic finish with mild shimmers. The shade is a silvery blue with some dark undertone. It works amazing with a darker shadow in the crease to create a nice bright smokey eye look. I will come up with a few looks with it, i feel like i will be using this eyeshadow a lot. I would definitely recommend it if you like metallic or silvery shades.

Urban Decay Primer Potion - Original
I love that Urban Decay finally came out with an easy squeeze-able tube for the primer potion. It works so much easier, because you can control how much you can use and i feel like you don't waste product like the wand primer potion. The fill weight is also 11ml e 0.37 US fl oz unlike the 10ml e 0.34 US fl. oz. that comes in the bottle form. The tube is priced $1 more than the bottle but you can a lot more benefits and i find it a lot easier to work with. I was very happy to get my hands on this primer.

FOTD - Jessica Burciaga inspired!

I was requested to do a Jessica Burciaga inspired makeup post. I had a hard time finding one specific picture that i can replicate so i basically just summed up her style into one and this is what i came out.
I look nothing like her so it's hard to come up with the exact style, but in general shes always glowy and bronzy. I'm in no way as tan at the moment so i had to improvize LOL! I had to pack on bronzer so achieve some sort of similarity. A lot of her look is based on the glowiness she has so i exagerated on highlight, which i don't usually do since it makes my face look super oily.

All-in-all her makeup style is amazing: lots of glow, bronzer and bronzy shades of eyeshadow; perfect for the summer! Here's what i came up with, hope you like it =)

Urban Decay - Are you feminine, dangerous or fun?

Urban Decay palettes are probably my favorite things to get. They're definitely worth collecting if you love the combination of colors. They usually come with extra eyeliner and/or mini primer. These three new palettes stand out, depending on which colors you prefer wearing. Let's see what each palette has to offer...
"We like to describe everything we create as being feminine, a little dangerous, and a lot of fun. These eyeshadow palettes speak to your inner mojo. Filled with six handpicked eyeshadows, Eyeshadow Primer Potion and 24/7 Eye Pencil, they coax your personality into doing all the talking. How do you roll?"

Which one am i?
I would definitely lean towards getting the Feminie palette just because i would see myself wearing those soft colors everyday. Stray Dog is one of my all time favorite Urban Decay eyeshadows so that was the first palette that i liked from the start. Each palette has some colors that i would definitely see myself using depending on if im going out or just playing around with colors, but not something that i would pack on on a daily basis.

I got all this information from the Urban Decay website.

What do you think about these palettes?
Are you feminine, dangerous or fun?!

FOTD - Nutty/Darkhorse

You probably know by now that since i started school, neutrals have been my best friend. I try to mix it up sometimes but most of the time i just throw on some neutral color and go to class lol. So here was my look for today using the new Nutty eyeshadow from Wet'n'Wild. I'm also wearing the new Maybelline concealer and Revlon photoready foundation that i mentioned in a recent haul post. Hope you like it =)
