I talked about the new NYX purple eyeshadow that i got and was really eager to try it out. I wore it alone all over the lid with a simple liner and i absolutely love it. I'm excited to try it out with other shades and mix things up a little bit. Hope you like it!

Small NYX haul

Recently dropped by Ulta to check out some NYX products. I was looking for some blushes and lip products, but ended up getting a few lippie goddies and one eyeshadow that i've had on my wishlist for a little while now. With all that said, here's what i got:
Deep Purple single eyeshadow - as soon as i saw this shade and swatched it i knew i had to have it. I probably own more purple eyeshadows than anything else because they work great with brown eyes. This shade is a more black purple and really great for smokey eyes or more dramatic look. Its quite sheer and metallic with tiny silver specks. The slight downside is that there's a bit of fallout so you need to be careful. Other than that its a gorgeous color.

Xtreme Lip Cream in Natural - this is a pale pink beige shade and i love it. Its very soft and pigmented with a glossy finish. Its not sticky so it feels really nice on my lips. Because its so pigmented the color is real nude and it may look like a lot on your lips so a little does go a long way. I like to wear it mixed with a darker lip color, since it lightens it up a bit and gives me a nice shade. One downside that some people might not like it the smell. Its almost like plastic, but it doesnt bother me much.

Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Sweetheart - this is my favorite gloss at the moment. NYX has amazing glosses and the mega shine ones are the best ive tried so far. The shade is a nude peachy shade with slight silver sheen to it. It just brightens up my lips and the fact that its not a sticky gloss is a major plus. I like to pair it up with any lipstick because it compliments both a nude or a pink shade. It smells like cherries which i really like and i do wish that they stay power was a bit longer, but ce' la vie.

Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Clear - because i love the quality of these glosses i figured why not add a clear one to my collection. Same quality as the Sweet Heart gloss and i love it. If i wear a more matte lipstick or color in my lips with lip pencils, this clear gloss is great to just add on to the look.

Mini Haul - NYX cosmetics!

Ulta has had 30% NYX cosmetics and of course i took advantage of it the last day of the sale lol! I hesitated because i don't really need any eyeshadows, and Ulta doesn't have that big of a selection of this brand. You would get much more variety ordering from cherryculture.com, but im waiting for a good sale from them too lol. I did go ahead and pick up two lipsticks, a lipgloss and a jumbo pencil. This is my first time trying out lip products from NYX so its super exciting haul lol

Lipsticks
Rea - its a soft taupey nude color. It looks kinda grayish on me, and it kinda swatches so on my skin too (NC35/40). When i applied it on my lips, aside from the texture which is freakin amazing, it looked kinda purpleish. Like i've been in a bathtub full of ice. In order to wear it im going to have to add some pinkish/peachy gloss. I works best on darker skin tones in my opinion.

Pumpkin Pie - i've heard about this lipstick on numerous blogs and i was super curious to try it out. Its so creamy im seriously in love. Its like a peachy nude with some hints of coral and pink. Its like the prettiest combination of colors. To me it feels like a fall color lol i dont know if its the name or the shade. Either way im very happy with this one, its absolutely gorgeous.

Lipgloss
Sweet Heart - i heat of lot of people talking about this shade being a dupe for Nars Turkish Delight but its not at all. Turkish Delight is a pale neutral pink, where as Sweet Heart is like a pinky beige color with slight shimmer. I absolutely LOVE the consistency though. It feels creamy, not sticky at all, and gives my lips a gorgeous glossy shine of color. I love pairing it up with Myth lipstick (HG lipstick!). The smell is so strange but i love it lol It's like a cherry vanilla coke lol I don't mind it at all. I want to purchase more of the lipglosses they're amazing quality.

Jumbo Pencil
Milk - everyone is probably familiar with this pencil and im most likely the last person on the planet to own it. But i decided to get it since it was a good sale price. It works great as a base, to make eyeshadows pop more. If you have oily lids you might have to apply UDPP or a primer before it or it will crease because of its creamy consistency. Either way it works great to apply by the tear duct in the inner corner to brighten up the eyes a bit.

TUTORIAL: How to depott NYX Trio eyeshadow

There are a lot of tutorials on how to depott MAC eyeshadows and its basically the same tactic but used on the trio. It's very exciting that they fit in the MAC 15 palettes! So instead of having 3 or 4 different nyx trios, you can just depott them in a MAC palette and there you have them so much handy and easier to carry with you. I needed to depott this trio so i thought why not make a post out of it right lol Hope i make it easy enough to follow =)

(NOTE: This is MY way of doing it and it works, other people might have another way but this is what i use)

1) MAC 15x palette
2) NYX Trio (white/gray/black)
3) Sharp knife (be careful with it!)
4) Sticker magnets
5) Wax paper
6) My CHI hair straightner
__________________________________
STEP1: Poke the knife in between where there is space and SLOWLY tug it till if comes out of place. Be careful with this step i don't want to be responsible for missing fingers O_o!

IT'S OUT!

STEP2: Turn on your iron, and put the wax paper on the hot plate. Fix the plastic trio with the shadows on it for about 20 seconds, depending on the heat of your iron. You can use the knife to check when the bottom is a bit melted.

STEP3:
CAUTION HOT! - Grab the edge of the trio carefully and turn it around. Poke each individual shadow with the knife and you should be able to push it right out because the glue melted. DO NOT touch the shadow pan! IT'S HOT!

STEP4: Let the shadow pans cool off a little bit while you get your little magnets ready. Mine were too big since they're squares so i cut the edges off. Turn the pans around and stick the magnet on the back

FINAL STEP: Add them to your palette and have fun organizing it =)

FOTD - Green Day =)

This is my look for today =) .I thought i should use the green trio i got from NYX and i really like the color pay-off. The colors are very pigmented and to my surprise...no fall-out! hah either i developed a really good method overnite or these shadows are really good lol I used all three colors from the trio. I used Spring Leaf all over the lid and up to the brow bone. Then i went in with Lime Green on the lid and finally went in with Green Tea on the crease. Hope you like it =)
